Mondarmoni ,Soikat Sundari ..Deegha

Few lines on recent visit to Mondarmoni and Digha during Durga puza .2024. It is almost 180 km drive from Kolkata to reach Mondarmoni ,where you will find some beautiful resort attached to the sea and very comfortable to play in the beach as you can directly access your room and swimming pool  etc from the beach ,where in other beaches changing your cloth ,bathing etc is a challenge after playing in the sea . The most important is that here you can enjoy your freedom as it is almost becomes like your private beach as there is no such crowd as Digha .Even in Durga puza  holiday also, we have enjoyed it with almost nil crowd ..Our stay was in one of the economic resort " Hotel sankhabela "  available with swimming pool .

Very first day of our travel we landed Kolkata in Durga puza MahaAstomi Day and enjoyed Sribhumi puza pandel crowd in the evening .Next day morning we have started with the booked zoom self drive car ,picked up the car from Rani Rashmoni Nagar and headed towards Mondarmoni through Jadavpur  university road ,but unfortunately the xuv 500 we have taken has some coolen issue and stopped in the mid of the Bidyasagar bridge over Hoogly river  ..Though the month of October is going on ,it was too hot outside and we had some unpleasant experience up to repairing of the same ,Somehow I brought the car to Shivpur area and found one mechanic out here with the help of .kolkata trafic and fortunately one motor parts shop also available out here  . Thanking to the traffic people we have started and started looking for some food as we have yet not done our breakfast and its almost 12 pm .....At Howrah ,we found chennai -kolkata highway and thought that will get some food here ,but unfortunately immediately we could not and drive up to panchla   ,At panchla ,Dakbanglo more I have decided to take the service lane and thought that whatever will be available we will eat ,as everyone is very hungry and then fortunately we found the hotel OPS ,who has served us very tasty poori bhaji and hot tea .

After food and all the obstacle over ,we drove continuously till the Hotel without any further stop and reach there by around 5 pm . Immediately after check in ,everyone was excited to see the other side of the hotel as the bay of bengal is just 2 step away from us .Having a cup of tea ,we all rush into the  beach .it was the time of sun set ,the sea water became  golden with the evening sun light along with the reflection of halogen lights of the Hotels up above and a very elusive environment for all of us ..Child played a lot with bouncing sea waves and not in a mood to came back .but as it is became darken and sea water started rising we came back to the hotel and everyone jumped into the swimming pool . Next day morning also all has enjoyed a lot with playing in the beach and the most interestingly it was total blank and became like our private beach.

At around 10.30 we had our breakfast in a roadside dhaba at Mondarmoni and headed towards Digha .

This is the day with full traffic on the road as everyone is going back to kolkata after puza break .All the big buses along with other normal traffic makes the road just impossible to move and driving became very difficult for us .Somehow reach Digha and directly entered in the Marine aquarium and regional center out there .Child enjoyed the sea species .After lunch we visited the Digha Science centre and Jaleswar Shiv temple at the evening .Nice experience as we arrived at the temple at the time of Aaarati and cam back with very good feelings .Evening we have enjoyed the crowd of new Digha beach loitering around the market ..had some nice chana and alu chat along with popcorn and sitted out there in the rocks of New Digha beach ...Mesmerizing feeling with breeze of Sea hitting you every time with the mighty sound of sea waves hitting the rocks .it was already 8 pm and we became late as need to come back to Mondarmoni Hotel . Headed towards Mondarmoni with the google map ,some roads were blocked due to Puza festival . Normally in google map ,if you want to travel between Digha -mondarmoni ,google will show you the main road which is through Ramnagar ,but if you want to enjoy your drive you can take the marine drive through sankarpur -Tajpur ..You will get amazing view of sea along with the drive ,this was an accidental innovation for me as  in one fine turning I have entered in to a wrong direction against google map and and immediately it shows me this marine drive .though it was dark we have enjoyed the sea waves hitting the road and decided to came back here in the next day morning.

Next day it was Dhunu"s birthday and we celebrated the same in Shankarpur beach ,sitting on the rocks out there ,then we are about to finish our mondarmoni tour with our last destination Kokra beach ,wher you will find lakhs of red crabs ,making a red carpet over the sands of the beach .

we came back to Mondarmoni through the main road from Tajpur through balisai -tajpur road as the road beside the sea towards Mondarmoni through Saikat Sundari is in worst condition .with the help of google we found the so called Kokra beach ,but there was no any significant landmark for the same and as google showing us a muddy road through villagers home and we became puzzled .Enquired about the beach to nearby villagers and they show us the same road and asked us to walk as it is just a 2 min walk to the beach ,still people are confused and scared as the place was too lonely and not like a tourist place .still I have decided to go and asked everyone to come down from the car and really after 2 min walk through this muddy road found a beautiful schene of life ..Its like a red carpet through out the beach and acres of area is covered with red crabs.
